I had great sales in April and May.

In the last few weeks...a dramatic dip. The worst in years.

Anyone else?

YES!! Up to last week... I was doing an average of $50-75 a day in sales. Then, last week everything just dried up... and now I'm doing just about $5-10 a day. It's like all the bidders just suddenly disappeared! I hope it doesn't stay like this for long! (I'm bringing a bunch of new products into my sales line... and am now concerned that this might not be a good time for it!)

Same here. Not many bids, not many watchers, and not many page views.

I'm getting a really wierd trend. Big drop in wholesale sales but a big jump in "retail" sales. Although my gross sales numbers are dropping, my net has tripled. I'm not complaining, I'm just a bit baffled.

oh yeah... as a bidder in other areas I have noticed a big drop in bids. I've been stocking up on items that are selling WAY too low. Definately a buyers market, especially on gift type items that can be relisted in time for the Christmas season.

Same here, my sales have been way way down for the last month so I am going to take it easy for a few weeks and not list very much. Guess I'll concentrate on my space at the antique mall since I am doing much better there.
Yesterday I figured I do some shopping on ebay but just trying to find stuff any more is such a pain with too much junk to rout through so I gave that idea up. So frustrating to me.

I have already closed down my auctions for my pending 3 week vacation, so I can't speak about that. I did notice that for most of May, sales were down - The number of items getting bids was considerably down. My ebay store is a different story, I had my best month ever in May (by far) and although the month is only about a quarter over, I am on target to actually do much better this month. I've got a real dilema because I will be gone for so long, but I am leaning toward keeping the store open and just have a notice in the listings that I won't ship til I get back. I know I will get some negatives, but with over 20,000 total positives (and closing in on 10,000 unique ones) I can handle a couple of angry negatives.

I would keep the store open if I were you Vet. Just put a vacation notice in one of the top boxes and in the Winning notice email. If you have or can aquire an auto-responder I'd add a cute and slightly humorous(to difuse frustration) note on there as well.

If you can find a couple handfuls of cheap postcards from your vacation destination, include those with a "Thank you for your patience" note when you get back and ship.

Maybe US sales are down but our European sales are still going strong and pulling in very good prices (in £/Euros/CHF) in our niche categories.

Depends on what you sell. Remember school is out, people are going on vacation and it's time to enjoy the outdoors.

I know *I'VE* spent more time outside this week than on eBay

Of course I've been studying for exams on the back porch, but you should see my tan

Sales Slump In the last few weeks...a dramatic dip. The worst in years.

I disagree. The Sales Slump happens this time of year, every year. It is called the summer slump. Memorial Day is the key date. After tax day until Memorial traditionally is very good.

After Memorial Day, People as a rule are now taking their vacations, doing their outdoor activities and so forth. About the only real computer time they are putting in is checking their e-mails or making travel plans.

Yes sales are the pits. I am working on ads I plan on launching in the fall. We are buying a lot of new inventory and plan on opening another booth in a new Peddler's Mall. Been busy redoing my E-Bay store,at least it will be ready when sales pick up.

I have a group of sellers that I like to watch and learn from - none have anything listed now so they must know that this is a really bad time to list.
Last summer was really good for me but at this time - I'm not seeing it pick up for the summer.

Really must depend on your product line. Mine never seem to vary all that much from year to year, or month to month -- that's 9 year's worth by the way. What seems to impact me more than anything is the total number of listings -- when it goes below 12 million or around that, I do better. So far, fingers crossed and may nothing jinx it, I'm having a pretty strong monthly opener this June.

Which is a good thing since the antique show I'm at right now is weak, and certainly impacted by vacations, kids' summer camp and sports, etc. etc. as always at this show this month. So? So I'm shopping!

Cheers.

I have had the best year of my 8 years worth of ebay listing history.By leaps and bounds! UNTIL I hit the skids this month. I am struggling to keep my sales at a powerseller level. I would be bummed... life is dull... so little to smile about... save the sun is shining! I have switched just this week to the "I'm pretty sure this will sell" not everything in the office load it up winter pages.... I jast want to pay the bills! Out to yard sales hopefully there is SOMETHING today!

I'm relieved I'm not alone.

BJBoswell - Like you I had the best sales ever in April/May....and now, by far, the worst ever. In my collectible categories, it's like all but a scanty amount of air was sucked out of them.

I'd say it's a good time to buy, but I think anyone with anything decent to sell has jumped ship.

If I can find my oar, I'm paddling away myself.

Horrible slump! I think it was end of school and Memorial Day vacations related! This week has been pretty good for me on E-e-Bay! Maybe it's a buyer's plot? LOL
