Good heavens, Jack. They're coming out of the woodwork. I've also been getting spam that is basically full of the same crap. "You don't know me, but you can trust me". Now, send me all your money. LOL! Like I'm that stupid.

That has happened to me lately too. What I've been doing is to forward their emails, along with full headers to [email protected] Believe it or not, you actually get a personal reply from them. They can actually block the abusers IP address from accessing the site.

Jack, do you use craigslist annonymizser when you list ads there? Or do you list your own email address for buyers to contact you?

eBay took 25% ownership in Craigslist about the summer of 2004.
This same scam Jack talks about has happened to friends of mine with high end antiques they had listed on eBay. The scammers offer to pay more than you have the item for sale and request the difference sent back to them via a cashier's check or similar liquid payment.
Yes, this scam has worked for the scammers when it first started but I believe a lot of sellers have been informed or have followed through with their gut feelings that something was up.

I had to laugh when the bozos offered to send $5,000 to pay for a $12.95 item and wanted the change back. Could that fool anyone?
