Well, I gotta tell you ... I have now become famous with my new post office!

The second time I went back to my new post office, I got the same grumpy, surly clerk. The two of us looked at each other and thought "oh crap!" The first thing out of his mouth was "I'm not scanning that." I said "fine! Thanks for saving me some money!" The postmaster came up to me and showed me some two sentence ruling based on pre-paid DC and that they aren't supposed to be scanned. I tried to explain that I use Shipping Assistant, but just gave up.

The next time, I went to a post office a little further away, smiled sweetly at the postmaster and asked "could you please scan these for me?" No problem!

Got a message on my machine from the original postmaster saying "I got the ruling and we'll scan them from now on." Ok ...

I went in today and the surly, grumpy clerk immmediately went into the back. I went to another clerk who didn't scan it in. I said "you need to scan that." "No, we don't scan these." The clerk one over (who is a jolly kind of fella and would make a perfect Santa) said "Oh boy, here we go again!" I said "get the postmaster, please." The postmaster came out and said to scan them. (I cut this down but there was more said.) I explained VERY CALMLY about eDC with Shipping Assistant and how it works. He said he never heard of Shipping Assistant. I explained how to find it, etc. I said that they know about it in Miami because I would just walk in with my packages and they would automatically scan them. Of course, he had to slam Miami and say "that's unusual. They usually get everything wrong."

So anyway ... I am now famous with my new post office. Everybody seems to now know me!

And the saga continues ...

Wow, Diane. What a PITA for you. Fortunately, my post office scans everything and without one complaint. You have to wonder what a crabby person like that is doing working with the public.

Sounds like a nightmare. I have now trained 3 local post offices employees to just do whatever I say. There is one guy who insists that every package must have customs forms and even a year later is doing it. The other clerks just look at him and remind him that despite all of his insistance, none of my packages have ever come back.

No, I'm saying -- I'm merely -- I'm saying what I'm saying. I don't know why I'm always having people say, are you trying to say -- you know what you can do if you want to know what I'm saying is listen to what I'm saying. What I'm saying is what I said ...

What is it with the PO & why are these disgruntled people still employed. Can you imagine an employee in a public place of business with an attitude like that.

They would be out the door & looking for another job in a heartbeat.
