I have been reading this board about all the ways bidders try to defraud. This person contacted me through ebay and proposes this scheme. Is it too good to be valid. What would you advise? I am including the headers.

This person contacted me through ebay with this scheme. Please advise. Antiquesguy

You're joking right? NO THIS IS NOT LEGITIMATE!! One of the oldest scams in the book. Report to ebay and don't communicate further.

'raising a money order'??
The Nigerians are rather formal with their English,I think they learn it in English school taught by the Brits!!
What can Ebay do but warn you not to conduct business outside Ebay ?There is no proof of fraud, all he is saying is that his client will send you a money order,it is up to you whether you want to play the game-the skin game!!

I have already gotten FOUR today!!
Here is the address I give them--
Elvis Presley ( I sometimes use Tom Jones)
935 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Room 7350
Washington, DC 20535
(202) 324-3000

They usually respond with " Your money order is on the way" To the office of the FBI...

This is a chronic problem on Craigslist. I like the address for the FBI. That is classic. I normally just send them back a form email letting them know I have a broker myself, and that the item is $xxx.00, a handling fee of $xxx.00, a processing fee of $xxx.00 and so on. They usually want an item that is about $200-500, but after all of my fees it gets closer to $1500 to 2000. I actually had one complain that my fees were excessive. Go figure...
