NEVER take the pictures of the items in the basement on your washer and dryer.

ROFL Biz! Thanks for sharing that!

PS Don't photograph your clothes for sale by displaying them laying on the floor either.

Oboy. And not the best description I've seen, either:

"THIS SALE IS FOR SEVERAL CROCHET DRESSES FOR DOLLS, ONE WITH THE DOLL, BUT IT ISN'T QUITE FINISH YET. THERE ARE SOME OTHER PIECES, DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE, BUT IF YOU CROCHET THIS SALE WOULD BE WELL WORTH YOUR MONEY. THESE ITEMS ARE FROM AN ESTATE SALE. SHIPPING AND HANDLING WILL BE $10.00. PAYMENT MUST BE MADE IN 7 DAYS. THANKS"

And $10 shipping? Give me a break.

Do people really sell / buy half partially completed crochet projects at estate sales?

No, I'm saying -- I'm merely -- I'm saying what I'm saying. I don't know why I'm always having people say, are you trying to say -- you know what you can do if you want to know what I'm saying is listen to what I'm saying. What I'm saying is what I said ...

I have seen these types of auctions before. I don't know if they do sell. It would be next to impossible to find the yarn to match to finish the dress. Plus everyone crochets differently.

Haha! My sister and I always call those types of pictures "arm of the sofa". For some reason that's the place people seem to most ofen try to photograph a small item. (even worse - sometimes they use a doily!) Now we refer to all bad photos as "arm of the sofa"

And we thought that was our private joke, so now we'll have to change the term to "washing machine in the basement" ugh!

Yeah, lesson 1-A might be "don't say exactly how many pieces you are selling, just say several."

Lesson 2_A: Pile things up so that the buyer can not tell what the items are or how many. The air of mystery will make a more exciting auction.

Lesson 3-A: Lay them across the top of the washer so buyer will assume you have actually laundered them.

***Added bonus to Lesson 3-A, when customer complains that they smell like (insert one here -> cat pee.. cig smoke... old lady drool... baby diapers...() you can offer the photo as evidence that said items were freshly washed.***

Wasn't most of the WWII stuff banned from ebay because of the conflicts between legite items and Nazi items? That would explain the change in listings.

I took a chance & shoulda known better.

This guy of few words & no capitals (note the title also in lower case letters) boasts "i have perfect feedback" yeah sure all 10 of them. But I wanted this DVD, the price was right, so I went for it & now he is NARU. He's still a perfect ten though.

joedeadjoe is a lousy deadbeat buyer & seller.

Just his user ID should have clued me,

Jack ... Traci Lords is a porn star. She started in porn when she was just 15 years old. That's pretty much all I know about her. Oh, and that she is an actress of some sort and was in Stephen King's "Tommyknockers" movie.

I did just watch Beyond the Sea - could have been better, but I liked it - had these fantasy sequences that I don't much care for and was a bit surreal. I don't know if it is worth buying from a joedeadjoe - maybe worth a rental though.

(was it my picture on the arm of the couch to which you are referring??? It was sooo late and I was sooooo tired.....)

By the way, the seller has vastly improved subsequent listings by covering the washing machine with a towel:

Weird reply, except it was a gamble & I did bet on it.

I just finished the book Dream Lovers & want to see the movie. I did notice the reviews were not great.
The book was good, but didn't show Bobby Darin as a very nice person even though written by his son. Sandra Dee was a really messed up girl too. Neither had a happy life.

McJane, I think joedeadjoe is a VD'r. I'm betting it was really Jack. But then again, if they've been NRU'd for posting Traci Lord, it could be Classic

LtRay now that you mention it, where is Classic?
I miss his posts, he always makes me laugh.

Couldn't be Jack, he wouldn't print in lower case, maybe capitals, but never lower case.
