What is this? I know it's amber carnival glass but not sure what it's use is or who tahe maker might be. there is no discernable mark anywhere. It's just under 6" tall and 6" across.

Could it be a sundae dish? Or some sort of dessert dish?
Ugly? Reminds me of my favorite auctioneer. He'd hold up a plug-ugly thing and start the bidding at $1. As it climbed to $50 and $100 he'd say it's getting better looking all the time.

Hi Fenix,
I agree with Fluffy, the color could be marigold iridized.
The shape would appear to be an ice cream sundae dish, but the size is a bit large for a sundae.
Maybe a fruit?
My first thought was Jeannette, but I can not find it listed. Pattern could be either Jeannette or Indiana Glass and they both did iridized. So how's that for a lot of words and no answer??

OK - so no one knows what it is or who made it and I can find no similar examples of it. I deem it to be exceedingly rare and worth $3297 and will have it insured as such.
Anyone want to steal it? I'll be out of town at the end of the month.

If it were carnival glass, I'd recommend http://ddoty.com/, but I'm doubting that it is.

Cash, that is the BEST carnival site. Can't believe I had never found it before. Thanks.
Sorry we couldn't help Fenix. My first thought was Rare! And perhaps it is. Let the ebay audience decide. I'm sure the winning bidder will tell you after they snipe it for .99.
I've for the most part put aside my books and refer to that site instead. The funny thing is that the site was pointed out to me by a difficult buyer, so I figure that I really EARNED that link
