Obviously eBay employees have too much time on their hands.

Forget about stolen merchandise and forget about fee avoidance and all the other unsavory things that occur on eBay.

Let's get all bummed out about one statement I have in my TOS which states "I take well hidden cash if you wish to take the chance" and cancel all my auctions in one fell swoop due to and I quote "unsafe payment practices".

So I have changed my TOS and now I get to relist all my auctions because some idiot got a wild hair.

Yippee!!!!

Just another day in paradise

I know the feeling Ms Capo. Ebay seems to ignore its own TOS about "Listings that violate eBay's policies may result in disciplinary action. This action may include a formal warning, the ending of all violating listings, or even temporary or indefinite suspension of a user's account."

Has ANYONE ever just received a warning?

"eBay will consider the circumstances of an alleged offense and the user's trading records before taking action."

Yeh right!

And while we are complaining, about ebay employees, I just had to log OUT of ebay to be able to view auctions. Seems ebay dropped a cookie on my computer sometime this afternoon that kept pages from loading. Go figure.

I could do searches but auction pages would not load. Out of curiosity, I logged out and everything cleared up.

I just had a CLOSED auction cancelled due to "bidding activity that took place without the account owner's authorization". The thing that has me howling is there was more than one bid and now I do not have that information! Why did they do that?

When I asked eBay about it, all Dennis could talk about is protecting me against negative feedback and that my fees were refunded. Well, my fees should be refunded!

Oh, they DID apologize.

I still don't think that eBay should have the right to tell us which form of payment we can take. They are "just a venue", aren't they? Or, is that only in a legal sense so that they are protected from a lot of lawsuits? It was my understanding that they were no longer refunding fees for auctions they end. Did they change that again?

Yes, capolady, you are right. . .eBay employees need a job!

I got notified that one of my closed auctions was voided after winnning bidder was hi-jacked account (I think there were a rash of these this week). I can reconstruct the listing because of Vendio but have no idea who the other bidders were . They refund seller fees in cases like this.

If a seller is suspended and he registers under a different seller id and relists the same items,Ebay will suspend his new id,cancel all his listings and not refund his fee.

Twig - I remember reading a thread on the store seller board last weekend about bidders that racked up 2500 winning bids in minutes and the thought was that this was done as seller attacks and possible massive negative FB's. I didn't see my buyer's name as one of those discussed in the thread but possibly there were other buyer accounts involved and maybe they HAD started to give negatives (that would be a REAL mess to clear up!) so I guess I can understand why ebay chose to handle it the most expedient way by cancelling everything. If you look at your buyers' recent activity (at least mine and the others I looked at) only the Dutch auctions remain (i suppose they couldn't cancel those because other buyers were involved).

I can't look at anything! It is no longer in eBay's records. I listed the item again. But I would have liked to block the bidder and been able to contact my other bidders to see if they wanted it. At least I still had the auction and didn't have to start from scratch again.

I sometimes do a copy and paste to notepad of bidders on my auctions as the days or bids get made, especially on items that are potential big bid getting items or I am unsure as to if someone will come along and try and get it kicked for some stupid reason even though I try very hard to NOT put anything in it that can get it kicked.

Example I see on ebay right now 99% of all the wooden train toy sets that are NOT Brio or Thomas train put in their titles just that. I put one on once had Brio Thomas train in description and not title as being compatible and it got kicked off cause it was Kid Connection. I also see that those that are putting those words in their title and description are also NOT putting the real maker of the train sets in to the auction.

It takes one person complaining and they probably are sellers of same item to get you kicked off-- your auction that is.
