We are interested in moving to CA and I recall one of you mentioning Santa Maria and how great it was. Was it Sanmar??

A good friend of ours is a world-class birder, takes tour groups to Honduras, and all over the world. Lives in Santa Maria. Loves it. We've heard nothing but good about that area.

Santa Maria Ca. is a farming community. It could be nice if you have enough money (as woody said, "If you ain't got the doe ray mi, boys, if you ain't got the doe ray mi. You better head back to beautiful texas, oklahoma, georgia, kansas, tennissee. California is a garden of eden, a paradice to live in or see. But believe it or not, you won't find it so hot if you ain't got that doe ray mi". The people are mostly very poor except for the few very rich. Don't count on public education. a rough community... you would be much better off in San Luis Obispo or Morro Bay, Los osos, etc. all about 30 to 45 miles away.
