It seems that all of a sudden I'm seeing two vesions of buyers' shipping addresses. Ebay gives one, PayPal gives another. This is happening more frequently, and it's frustrating. Ebay gives one, so I compute the shipping costs based on that address; then PayPal gives another. This week it was a California address in Ebay, so the shipping was relatively low; PayPal gave the address in New York City! I've e-mailed the buyer and gotten no response yet; obviously he'll need to pay more for shipping than my original quote to him. And twice more this week it's happened. Are people moving more now?

You aren't the only one. I had a sale from Italy. The eBay address was different from the PayPal address. I notified the buyer and she called PayPal. What PayPal was seeing was totally different from what I was seeing. They were seeing the correct address, I wasn't. I had to take a screen shot for her to send PayPal. I don't know if she ever got it resolved.

Ebay is just hosed again. I was working on relists yesterday and half of them posted to wrong categories.
The first few I noticed I assumed I was messed up. But when it kept happening, I knew it was not me.
And remember the phantom search problems? Well, their back...... I have two auctions that will show in a search for a few hours and then they disappear. They consistantly show in My Ebay, just not in seller search or item search.

LtRay- you're not alone - yesterday I did a search on Titles only and found 3 listings -- I expanded the search to titles and descriptions and found only 2 listings -WTF!

If the Paypal address is a confirmed address,then it is where his credit card statement is mailed to,it could be his office,home or P O box,while his Ebay address is his home address.

With one of these sales, what's complicating it for me is that the eBay buyer is Name #1, at an address on the same street as buyer #2. The PayPal payer is Name #2, at a different address (but near the address of the first buyer. Two different names, two slightly different addresses (2985 and 2644 on "Elm St." I've sent two messages asking for clarification and have heard nothing.
It doesn't feel right, but maybe I'm just paranoid. Where would you all send it, given that the payer is a different name AND different address from the bidder?

I think I would have to give PayPal a call. That mix of names and addresses just sounds too weird.
Is the buyer's confirmed address? How is their feedback?
Nt to freak you out, but I did read about a scam where the thieves were having items delivered to addresses in a new unfinished house complex.
They managed to defraud sellers for over a month before they shutdown operations and moved out. I don't think they ever did get caught. Probably working in a new subdivion by now <g>

I'll check on that confirmed address. Yes, it's weird, isn't it. I suppose two people in the same neighborhood could get together; one is registered with eBay so he bids for his friend, then he gets the friend who wants the item to pay through PayPal. . . . so it could be legit.

I have gotten 4 of these in the past week. It is giving me a headache!! I did get response from the buyers. One said they moved and forgot to change their address on Ebay, another said they paid from their husband's PayPal account, another said she uses a fictitious address on Ebay so no one know where she lives because her husband is a famous person (!!!) and the fourth asked for the item to be shipped to her daughter (but the address on PayPal showed up as being confirmed). I give up. I am praying that we are dealing with honest, but confused people.

As long as you are shipping to a confirmed address you should be covered. Just make sure that you address the package EXACTLY as the PayPal confirmed address that shows, including commas,abrreviations, mispelled names, etc.
If you create your shipping labels in PayPal you will have no worries. The warning is for those that use Endicia or the USPS site. I know the USPS website will try to standardize the address.

Your bidder could have been naru'd by Ebay and register again under a new Ebay ID with a different address .
To be covered under Paypal seller protection,just ship to the Paypal confirmed address.
I've sent two messages asking for clarification and have heard nothing.
