What is ebay's rules for your own website these days? We can post information in our "About Me" pages right? I thought I read somewhere that the merchandise on the Website had to be different than what you were selling on eBay??? Thanks

You can post it on your Me page HOWEVER, you cannot state that you sell anything. LOL! Basically, you can put in large letters "CLICK HERE", but you can't say "For more great items, visit my web site at blah, blah, blah". The rules are very vague and I think it's deliberately so.

Cheryl,

First let me say you have a "fabalous" website! You said you were slapped with a pink slip was it on eBay for talking about your website in a Auction?

I didn't even talk about my website. I had a tagline for eBay's message boards essentially saying that the fee increase closed my eBay store and that my "St. Elsewhere" (exact words used) was going strong. They said that was advertising my off eBay store. I said, NO it wasn't. St. Elsewhere is what people say on the boards when they are talking about their off eBay store. It's said all the time particularly on the stores board. A monitor just didn't have anything else to do.

Thank you about my store comment. It's an eCrater store and they're free. I've sold more there than on eBay lately.

I just panicked because my store looked like it was gone. Whew. They're upgrading their servers because so many new stores have opened up on their site so the stores are temporarily down. Growth. It's a good thing.

I'm curious about eCrater's business model. If it's free for sellers, how are they making money?

I'm thinking about putting up a test store there, but wouldn't want it to disappear if eCrater can't make ends meet.

Fleecies, go view their website. I'm not sure how they are financing it.

Cheryl, instead of bringing up your Pink Slapped thread, I thought I would mention it here. While surfing tonight I am seeing way too many sellers with their webstore mentioned on their auction page.

I bet if any of us tried this we would be shut down in a heart beat!

The website is SO well hidden

Like any 3 year old could not find their web store.

I'm not complaining, just jealous that they can get away with it.
