I need to send money to my son. When I see the options on Paypal, one is quasi-cash, and I have no idea what that is.
Will he have to pay fees on the transaction?

It is PayPal funds without a specific item attached to the transaction. He will have to pay the normal PayPal fees.

amber, found this on Google about quasi cash & PayPal.
Quasi-Cash: Select this to send money not involving an underlying good or service. If you use your debit or credit card for this, your bank may treat it as a cash advance and charge cash advance fees. PayPal has no control over these fees. If you select 'Quasi-Cash' you may want to use a payment method other than Credit Card (Instant Transfer or eCheck) to avoid potential fees

Thank you McJane. Usually when I send cash, I use goods (other), it seems as if that would be a better option if you are using a credit card.

I wonder if it is a good idea to use -goods,other when it is really a cash advance from you to the recipient?
If there is ever any problem, and the bank asks-what did you buy?
and you said-I did not buy anything!
Just a thought!

hwahwa, I just use that when I am transferring cash that I have in my Paypal account, or if someone buys something from me that is nothing to do with eBay.
