This is a real photo postcard and I've been trying for a month to identify the location.
I thought maybe the dome in bottom section would tell someone what city it is.

Thanks stonecold.
Gasguy, I only have cards showing the front view of the Hollywood Bowl. Is the back built up like that?
I just checked some other listings with the Hollywood Bowl in them and around the 1950s it doesn't look like there was that many buildings close to it.

My first thought was LA for sure.

I don't think it's the Hollywood Bowl. The Bowl has pillars on the top and both sides. Also, it's not right in the city. It backs up to the hills.

Edited to add: September 16, 1960, was the 2nd Annual "Stereo at the Bowl" event, starring the Kingston Trio, Henry Mancini, George Shearing and Peggy Lee. And, as I recall, it was one heck of a concert!

Looks like LA City Hall in the back ground. Did they have some temporary bandshell for the 1938 Olympics? How old would you say the PC is?

Lucy's right. It's not the Hollywood Bowl. That's near Cahuenga Pass, as you head out of Hollywood into the Valley. I used to live quite near there.
Does anyone see palm trees in this photo? I don't.
What is that blue X at the top of the tallest building?
My first thought was somewhere in Manhattan, with Jersey off in the distance.

The blue X is where the person sending it marked where shewas at at the time.
I don't see palm trees.
It has a 3 cent stamp so late 50s??? The postmark doesn't have a date showing on it.
My daughter thought maybe Cincinnati.
Anyone from there or been there that might know?

Thought that looked familiar - I live in Cincy - the very tall building in the back where your person says she was is the Carew Tower. There is an observation deck at the top and the view is tremendous.

Linda -
Unless Cincinnati didn't do much building from the 1930s-1950s, I'd say that your RPPC is from the 1930s (the Teich card has a date of 1933). Most of the skyline is exactly the same in both cards.
