Has anyone been able to bulk edit shipping in eBay? I see that it is supposedly available. I used it and it seemed to work fine, I checked my listings and the change did not take place. What am I doing wrong?

Funny I was just looking at my store listing to see if I could do the same thing. Unfortunately (for me) all my weights are different so I didn't start to do this yet. I'll try some in a bit and let you know how it goes.

Pixiamom - Did you get it to work. I've been so busy I have not had time to do it yet. I sure hope it will work - or I'll be editing all my listing manually.

Nope. When I have a day to kill, I'll try contacting eBay about it.

I tried again and bulk editing still doesn't work. Called PS support, they walked me through it and confirmed that my listings couldn't have S + H bulk edited. I say MY listings, because they said this is the first their technical people have heard of it. (Really????) They said it MIGHT be a glitch in Selling Manager Pro and referred me to the SMPro discussion board. They suggested that anyone else who is having problems bulk editing S + H post there, too.

It would never work for me, I have too many varied items. Plus I have to put in shipping for US, Canada and Worldwide, that is after I have weighed and measured. I ship from Canada, but because I sell on the US site, my shipping service says US. There is no other way to do it. I am just wading through over 300 items!

Had the same discussion with live help. They know it is a problem and have been working on it. I can tell you personally, this has been a problem for at least 1 year now. When you have several thousand items and they tell you that the 200 per page feature DOES NOT work - you have to do a SMALL QUANTITY(10-15) at a time...is PURE BS. You can try 50-100 and you will get ITEM CAN NOT BE EDITED DUE TO SYSTEM ERROR. It will tell you to remove 15 of them...which you can not do. Only one at a time. You reclick the CONTINUE button and the next time you get 20 that are in error....click it again you may get 8....BS. System can't handle the features. Just tried adding TEST to the description on 190....42 came up "Item cannot be processed or relisted due to a system error" and NO WHERE is there a spot to CORRECT HIGHLIGHTED AREAS...believe me...not worth the time.

Rhpepsi, I used to have the problem you had when trying to edit a lot of listings at once, I continually got errors unless I pared down the listings at ten or less. They've improved that now and I can usually bulk edit 50 listings without any (or at least many) errors. This shipping thing is a different story. It looks like the editing went through beautifully. No errors, a message confirms that the listings were edited successfully. Ha!

I remembered a remark Briggitaw made about bulk editing in Turbolister. Tried that and was able to successfully bulk edit the shipping fields. Works a lot better than the last time I tried to use Turbolister for bulk editing. Edited to add, you need to download the latest version of Turbolister and then check and download updates for the shipping qptions to appear.

Is there a way to add "handling time" with turbo lister?

Not that I can see. EBay's SMPro seems to handle this fine through bulk edit. What I was amazed at: in Turbolister you are able to find & replace in bulk in the description field. Very handy if I raise shipping costs because I have it everywhere in my descriptions. Briggitaw was right. Edited to add: I can't say Turbolister is my favorite listing or editing tool. I still think Vendio is superior for listing and eBay's SMPro is better, generally, for bulk editing and relisting. However, Turbolister can revise some EBay listing fields that others cannot. A great savings compared to manually editing these listings one by one.

Unfortunately I can neither get Turbolister to bulk edit (I have too many variables, it says) and I can't get SMPro to bulk edit.

May have to shut it down until Vendio or Auctiva or someone gets all the tools lined up to edit these things. I think I'll just wait and see what is going to happen.

Beth - I couldn't get Turbolister to work either. It only handled 1900 of my listings after several attempts.

All 5800+ of my listings imported on the first attempt. Of course, eBay had already pulled my oldest 1500 listings which probably had some corrupted records.

Mine all imported but when I try to edit and then synchronize only a handful process at a time. The first time I edited, I got 1200 to work, the next time 300, and so on - last couple of times, only 10 or 11 processed.

My problem is that I have multiples where one has sold. So I will be clipping along at 150 an edit and then have to find the one ad. Because you cannot edit all the field in that one in bulk.

Second, I have an old category number in bikes and clothing ads and that give me an error. That said I worked for four hours last night and will finish tonight my 3300 items.

What a mess.

So, I completed bulk editing and all my items disappeared from ebay.

Right now I have 300 of 3000+ items showing. So warning, that revising will result in becoming a ghost.

How I so wish there was an alternative.

I have shops here, ecrater, etc. but let's face it eBay is it for us until something better comes along.

I for one send a flyer with every package showing my other sites. Recently I am also including a flyer showing the star system debacle that reveals a good is NO GOOD.
