I wish I knew the answer to your question.

With ebays new search system one day your search is lowered, the next day it is standard, and then if you get lucky they Raise your search standard.

Well in the last 3 years I was a power seller and now with Ebay's new search & DSRs, I was told by Ebay that I don't meet the power Seller standard....ummm, wonder why???.....could it be I am not selling enough items? and not making enough money?
Are they worried about giving power sellers back a small percent. Ebay gives you a crumb and takes back a slice, that's what I call good business sense.

Not being a PS anymore is due to Ebays new and improved system...lol

I never had this problem until the new search came into effect. So, now what I have been doing is working on marketing my web site and putting all my time and effort into making it work because we can not depend on income like before. Everything has changed and more changes will be coming. It's time to start planning and moving to higher ground.

I guess you can tell that I am fed up with the NEW Ebay and it's rules and regulations.

Now they also want us to take off any links we show in the Me page if the link brings you out of ebays walls.

I expect that by this time next week, we will all know about the new ebay.

Further, I would be surprised if Vendio did not unveil a new set of tools and maybe the new store we have waited three years for. It sure would be a great time to do so.

For sure, by next Saturday, we all will have been introduced to the changes at ebay.

I forgot to mention, that you could be proactive - take charge of your own future, and open your own store to sell through along with an Auction.

Check this out. You could start your own auction - http://www.rainworx.com/

I happen to find the whole concept quite interesting. Perhaps this is the way to go.

your own auction, you own website, people have been trying ever since Ebay .
Ebay bidders are not interested in leaving Ebay, individual websites are not diversified, they stay the same, the merchandise gets stale and it is always the same old same old stuff, how many of us can keep on bringing new stuff every week and what do we do with the old stuff we cant sell?
Only on Ebay you can find new and exciting stuff every night you log on,here is the secret of Ebay,in 3-10 days, your stuff is no longer on Ebay auction ,never stale ,always something new,NO INDIVIDUAL SITE CAN ACCOMPLISH THAT.

hwahwa, while we all believe this to be true, there may be some exceptions.

The stamp auction that I have posted a link to has over 51,000 items listed, which is not to shabby for a small auction. There are both auctions and stores.

Of course, there is always the BAN. That is another alternative. Especially for the ebay folks. You can always incorporate your own store within the BAN.

The more I look, the more interesting it all appears.

There is no longer much point in installing BANS.

eBay took over the affiliate program, renamed it eBay Partner Network and surprise, the commissions stopped coming. Many affiliates aren't getting even as much as 10% of what they earned back when the program was run by Commission Junction. Obviously there is a huge gaping problem under the new system. I used to earn $150-$400 a month in affiliate commissions. My total for this month so far? $11.30.

I just converted one of my BANS sites back into a parked page. It'll earn more money that way. How sad is that?

Fluff...what's your take on the PepperJam Network option that BANS is offering? I'm guessing it's not going to make much difference so I haven't jumped on that bandwagon. I've noticed, too, that my affiliate commissions are down.

Must eBay destroy everything they touch?

I'll plan to continue to list on ebay but I'm thinking of moving my better items to another site. I have not decide which one yet but I have a few in mind.

Hi shething,

I haven't done an exhaustive study on it but here's what I've read so far:

1) With PepperJam, you are a subaffiliate. They are the real affiliate. You only get a portion of the affiliate commission.

2) Because you are a subaffiliate in the same boat with lots of other subaffiliates under PepperJam, if another subaffiliate violates the affiliate agreement, you can all be suspended from the program.

eBay has lots of ways to detect fraud in this program and there doesn't seem to be any shortage of people who think they can get away with it anyway.

PepperJam has gotten lots of blogging buzz because they pay $5 for every subaffiliate recruited into their network. Most pay-per-post bloggers would sell their souls for lunch money, so their recommendations are worthless.

Bill,
I agree, there are a few exception, stamps and coins and postcards you can find enough dealers who have large inventory.
There are also some boutique auctions which seem to be doing well like Igavel,Aspire and some which specialise in military memeorabilia,Japanese woodblock prints etc.
Quality is better and the auctioneer is knowledgible .

Thanks, Fluff. I couldn't see the point in it anyway and you've certainly confirmed my doubts.
