My daughter works for a very wealthy couple locally. On Sat the lady cleared out her closet (one of them, in one of her 3 houses) She gave my daughter a car load of clothing, front to back, to the roof (station wagon). This lady is an officer in a large insurance co in Philly and dresses the part. She makes POTS of $$. The clothes are literally filling my dining room at the moment. Good name brands no k-mart wally world anything. Lots of them have tags from Nordstrums,Lord and Taylor and other such dept stores. They run in size from 14 to 22. Shoes, belts, handbags, coats, wool lined pants.Nothing vintage or worn alot or out! Like new and today in fashion. How would you market this pile. My daughter REALLY needs the money from this gift so I would like to make the most of this pile. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Trunk show by invite, ebay,Craig's list what would you do? AND WHEN... if you sell clothes on ebay hows it going? Thanks

The plus sizes really sell well because they are so expensive in stores. Your best bet is to sell them in lots - you will have to divide them up in lots by size and then lots of casual clothing, business wear and formal wear. It will be a pain but each item in the lot should be listed by size, item and maker. I would put between 10-20 items in each lot depending on how many you have, of course.
Do not bother with measurements - they are a pain and if you do not measure correctly, which is difficult to do, the buyers try to return them. Specify in each auction that due to the quantity, measurements will not be given and returns not accepted. Start each lot at $9.99 no reserve.
There is a category in clothing/plus size for lots. Make sure to mention the designers in the title of course.
Hope this helps - it's how I did it when I lost weight and cleaned out my larger size clothing.

Unfortunately if you start them at $9.99 with ebay today - that may well be what you get for the whole lot.
It's a lot of work for nothing if you aren't careful.
I'm not so sure I wouldn't try a few individuals - maybe pick the best labels and the NWT items and see how they go. If you have a mannequin or a live model you will get more for them. Of course this will require you to give measurements.
I guess it depends on the names brands and the amount of work you want to do, but selling clothes on ebay isn't much fun IMHO.

I sold some designer clothes recently on Ebay, neutral color seems to sell well-beige and black and white, also material like wool and irish linen and cotton.
But they are designer clothes not dept store brand.
