Yesterday I accepted a full time job! It will be the first time in 30!!! years I have worked for someone else. My first paycheck. My over riding concern was stabilizing our family income. Ebay is foolish with all their hoops... and every year there is summer to live through. For me,even though Ruby Lane has been a God send there is summer there as well. The good news for me is that 5 people applied for this job, which was to be part time. The director looked me in the eyes and said,"I want you and I would very much like you full time" Then he offered me more money than I had asked for on my application. So tomorrow morning with a bag of very mixed emotions ... I will go to work.

Good for you - I guess?
I don't know what I would do if offered a full time job at good money. I think maybe it's been too long for me to go back to working for someone else. But I must admit - ebay is more and more like that boss breathing down your neck.

Congrats & best wishes. I have been looking but no luck as my field is specialized.

We will see more & more small to medium size sellers heading back to "employment outside the house" with all the stupid changes that Ebay have and will continue to make.

Congratulations! How cool that the boss wants you and is willing to pay for your talent.

Good luck and remember that it takes three months on average to feel comfortable in the new job.

We'll miss you!

OH Beth thank you for reminding me that

"it takes three months on average to feel comfortable in the new job"

I have been an Antique Dealer for 30 years. Shows, shops, ebay... for myself. This job is a huge step for me. I had the application on my desk for 3 weeks before my sister called and said "pick up the pen, lets do this together". I was THAT scared. I know that I will still have enough time on weekends to deal with the house and Ruby Lane. Life is a series of changes and this one for me is good,I pray, but certainly at the right economic time.

I forgot to mention that! I will be the assistant director of a senior retirement home. I have never done anything with seniors save buy their stuff and play cards. But I'm a very good listener, quick learner and very empathetic. I hope these qualities stand me in good sted. I can't believe I'm saying this but... I have to get to bed, work in the morning!

Please keep me in your prayers, thank you

I am getting ready to go back to work full time. I guess the E-Bay thing will be extra income again. The sales pick up in the fall and I need to buy more inventory anyway. Last month was one of the best months I had so far this year. This month has slowed down a lot.
