Well Best Match is showing items NEWLY LISTED instead of ENDING SOONEST today (I think it's been going on awhile)...what next? What about the buried items ending today?

I just got this email from a buyer today.
"Thanks for letting me know about the mailing. I have found it much more difficult to find what I am looking for on ebay and I called and told them so. They did not say it was related to the star program. Maybe buyers should not participate in the star program and only leave written feedback. It is not mandatory to leave star feedback."
I wonder how many more buyers are complaining?

It's been happening for at least a week.

Last week I listed 10 brand-name items a day for five days. Fixed price, free shipping. Recall that free shipping is supposed to advantage you in Search.

AT NO TIME did any of my 50 items appear at the top of Search, not even when they had a few minutes remaining. Score: Sold 0 out of 50.

I might as well have flushed the money down the toilet. At least then I would get the satisfaction of watching it swirl before it disappeared.

If you're spending $7500 a month on maid service, why only $1700 on jewelry?

Fluff - someone posted on the Search board that the billing dept is refunding listing fees. I am not sure if that's right but it might be worth a shot.

I thought I noticed a change in bidding behavior the last couple of weeks - early bids and then NADA. This explains it. I had 4.9 across the board last month, raised search status AND offered free shipping on a number of auction items.

The rumor I heard is that they are NOT refunding fees.

Which, sad to say, is entirely consistent with previous eBay bad-faith behavior.

I just wonder what going to happen as the FP change starts next week? Mix that in with the best match and Fluffy's right - much more fun flushing money down the toilet and the same end result.

Life is too short to use searches that DON'T search.
