Caption: "I promise I won't send you in orbit!"

Who is the man portraying? I thought some Russian leader, but he sure looks like Hitler. Wasn't the US the only country that sent chimps into space?

Any idea of the age of this card?? It may be a scene from an old movie. Is there any more information on the card? Some movie buff may recognize this -- or not!

Roadsmith, I would guess it dates to right around 1960-1961. I've had quite a few of these dressed chimp cards- most are lobby or arcade cards but this is a postcard with no other captions. I've decided to call the guy a "rocket scientist".

Even though he looks like Hitler I think he's supposed to be more of a generic villain/bad guy.

Did you see this?

The U.S. indeed was the only country that sent chimps into space.

The Soviet Union sent dogs; German shepherds, I believe. I think one was named Sasha.

Very unusual postcard!

It must be before the spring of 1961, because that's when Alan Shepard made his brief space flight. So I'm thinking mid to late 1960 to early 1961 as the age of this card.

Zippy, I think you're right. I've now had all the cards you linked to!

The "Printed in U.S.A." looks like it might be an Exhibit Supply Company arcade card, but I don't reconize the series.

LAIKA was the famous SOVIET space-doggy:

Ralphie reminded me of his favorite flick:

"My Life As A Dog"
