I am sadly preparing to close my eBay store, after Christmas, and I need some help.

I am closing because of confusion by many buyers as to my business, items available, and location. This is caused by the duplication of my items across the internet, and my heavy buy with Google adwords. Where there are a thousands plus items in my web store, which has great SEO, there are only twenty on ebay, and less on StampWants.

The problem is that I want to list some items on ebay without them showing in a Google, or Yahoo search. I only want them to appear in an ebay search, for ebay members (now that's different).

This is so, because I do not want any customers to believe that the items for sale on ebay, are all that is offered by my business.

Can the store be placed on vacation, or whatever, while items are still listed on ebay?

So, what type of ebay listing can I use that will not be picked up by Google?

Hi Bill, you can place your store on vacation and the active auctions will still be displayed.

"Only your Store inventory listings will be hidden. All auction-style, fixed price and any other eBay listings will continue to appear to buyers as they normally do."

Have you just thought about just changing your ebay store name to avoid the confusion? You could still make a reference to your other webstore on your ME page.

When I put the store on vacation will the "me" page remain the same, and be available?

I have been on eBay since 1999, and have had an ebay store virtually the entire time. It will be different to be without one. However, my business growth is on the net, not ebay.

Your ME page should still be available to view. I have not looked lately but didn't your template have your Kozersky id in it?

If so, you might also want to consider changing your templates on ebay so they do not show up on google search as well. Your ME page will still show in google but will hopefully get lost in your other site pages.

I think it was Fluffy who posted about the store name conflict if you had feeds from multiple websites going to google. I took her advise and created a different store name for each site. It has had interesting results with the bottom line being more sales in each venue = better overall sales.

I have not had an ebay store in about a year and half. As my other venues continue to grow, it just became harder and harder for me to justify spending the extra $$ for the ebay exposure. Non-ebay customers complain much less and appreciate the little things a lot more.
