I think you mean Tom. I haven't heard anything about him for a long time.

The last I heard from him was that he moved out of his son's house and got his own apt.
I hope he is doing OK.

Hasn't it been years for Fenix?
I was wondering about Tom as well. I hope he's OK.
Also what about Jane - or was it Mary Jane?
Hope she's doing OK as well.
We have lost a lot of users from this board - hope they have all just moved on to other projects.

"Also what about Jane - or was it Mary Jane?"

Pixiamom is that missing person.

I noticed that she was missing for quite awhile. I think she tired of the posts on the RT. She was not treated very well over there.

I enjoyed reading her posts.

I think the "Jane/Mary Jane" referred to is McJane. Not Pixiamom.

I have an email address for McJane from 2007. I sent email this morning; it was rejected because her mailbox is full.

I am sorry to say that in a Google search, I found no postings from McJane in the last nine months or so. Or at least ones I could be certain were from "our" McJane; the name has been co-opted by several other people. Of course it could be she no longer posts under that name and has abandoned her old email account.

Do I remember that Jane was ill some time ago and stopped posting to take care of her health? I could be wrong, I hope I am wrong.

I was thinking the same thing, I am pretty sure she was the one who was sick.

Pixiamom is Jane - my sister. She is alive and well - I agree with Koz - I think she got ganged up on by a couple of people who bully folks on the RT and just got sick of it. When they started frequenting EO, she just quit reading and posting.

McJane does concern me. It has been a long time since she posted here and it seems people who knew her on a more personal level stated they had not heard from her either. However, "McJane" on ebay did receive feedback as a buyer on January 11th. I think this may be the same person because earlier seller feedback is for stamping supplies. So... hopefully McJane is doing well and just has moved on.

I recalled someone said she was posting on a medical forum.
Fenix03 was not well either, the last we heard is that she was in Denver waiting for some hospital operation.

Neglus: Brilliant idea. I hadn't thought of that -- sent her email through eBay.

Glad to hear Pixiamom Jane is doing well. I miss her sage marketing advice.

Is he the gentleman who collected photographic obscura building pictures. Probably not spelled right, but they were odd little 8 or more sided buildings.

pmelcher = I think the camera obscura information was "photosensitive". She posts every now and then - last time on the "Merry Christmas" thread.

Amber, Tom sold the scales.

"photosensitive" yes I think that was the posters forum name ...I thought the poster was male. Anyway whoever it was, they sure knew about camera settings and such.

The scales seller was Tom

It would be nice to see some of the posters return.
We know that McJane was not well and that Tom was also struggling but would love to see posts again from Photosensitive and Pixiamom and anyone else who has dropped off the radar over the past while.
I miss their knowledge and input which is not to say that the rest of you don't give any great advice but it is always helpful to have a large pool of knowledge from which to draw.

I love checking in here everyday but we don't seem as active as we once were because we have lost some of our members.

Because of this Community I have made real life new friends. My very DH and I have met Fluffy and her husband, Pixiamom and her Mom, and Shagmidmod and his DW and have had a great time with all of them.

So to those of you who can think of ways to contact our old friends please do and tell them we miss their input.

Hi, This is Photosensitive (yes I am female) checking in. I look in on the board often. I am no longer selling on eBay although I do check out my saved "camera obscura" and "spirit photograph" searches every day. I still buy from time to time but not as much as I once did.

The pool of posters seems much smaller now and I miss some of the people like Tom and McJane. Hope they are doing well. My favorite threads are the "what is it" questions. I have learned a lot from the combined wisdom of the group.

At the beginning of last year we packed up 40 years of collecting (that was the hardest thing I ever did!) and made a long distance move to be closer to my family. We downsized a bit but not nearly enough.

My sister and I have a showcase in an antique mall but are thinking of dropping it when our contract is up. We plan to list more in our online mall.

Best wishes to all.

It seems many sellers are no longer selling on Ebay,I came across ex Ebay sellers on Bonanzle and ETSY and then some just gave up selling !
Recently some one asked me if it is possible to sell at a profit on Ebay?

Photosensitive...Our Wish was your Command!

Thank you for updating us on your life. I understand about packing up collections and downsizing as I have been going through that over the past few years. We drastically downsized and 17 months later we UPSIZED but not as much space as we first had.

Just today we have packed up about 12 boxes of things to take to our local live Auction House. I have given up listing fine china on EBay and tried Bonanzle but got nowhere so have packed it up and it's outta here!

Back in the day there were only places like Outlook where folks like us could post and ask Q's, whine, share the happy dance. Now there is the almighty Facebook. I would guess that many oldies and lots of newbies who sell have transfered to Outlook type communication. I assume Vd has an Outlook page.

I am really amazed that Vendio doesn't have a Facebook page - they should get with the program and provide feed so Store owners can link to their Vendio stores! It amazes me how industry pioneers are really lacking in social networking applications

How is Tom doing?
I think if a person is no longer selling on Ebay,he/she just lost interest in chatting on Vendio.

I didn't talk to him or befriend him (if that's what you call it).
There wasn't much information there but there was a photo of a boston terrier which wasn't Ralphie
I may contact him later and see what's happening with him.
