I have a share of Kara International, Inc., stock. Purchased in 1987. Can some stock-market guru here see if it's still viable and, if so, what it's going for now? The statement I received acknowledging my purchase was from Covey & Co., Salt Lake City. Not sure what was going on!
It was a chocolate company in Provo, Utah, and I purchased one share on a whim, after tasting their product.

Before you throw anything away - check with the broker who sold the stock. You did not tell us what you paid for the stock - you can claim the value loss of the stock on your tax return.
Yes, the stock has value for collectors - Scripophily - the collection of stocks, bonds, etc. Check out stocks in the coins category on ebay.

Okay, Bill. I've now learned that the stock is worthless (called a broker where we used to live). So. . . I'd like to try to sell the stock certificate in scriophily. Is that all I need to show in a photo--just the certificate itself? I have a lot of paperwork on the sale.
