Anyone here familiar with the ancient Egyptian religion?
A person consists of the physical body,the Ba,Ka,Ankh,shadow and name.
The Ka is the double,made of finer substance which allows it to pass through walls and other solid matters.
After the person dies,the Ka leaves the body while the Ba stays until mummified and the ritual of opening of the mouth releases it from the physical body.
The BA then seeks out the KA and together they ascend to heaven.
My question is when does this happen?

IIRC, and it has been a number of years since that art history (it's not just about art) class, they never really leave. After death, they both travel between the earthly and heavenly realms but Ka in particular was believed to live in the tomb of the deceased.

thanks,but these days many are burnt to ashes so no cemetery for the Ka to hang around.
Now,the Hindu and Buddhist religions believe in reincarnation,usually within 2 years after death.

Your words "these days" are the key. Nobody follows the ancient Egyptian religion any more so it's irrelevant. As to your original question, when does this happen?....When they find each other, of course.
