What are you all doing with ebay now charging FVF on shippin as well as the item?
How can we list or add the handling and insurance on the items it's costing my more, I may as well charge more and ship free but then my sales would fall as people would say you charging too much. My only answer maybe saying the item weights more. It's sad after 13 years of being a honest seller with shipping that ebay has gone to this because of high prices for shipping from other sellers??? Or do you think it's the $$$$?

well,if a seller lists an item at 1 cent and charges 65 dollars for shipping or free shipping but mandatory insurance and handling fee of 25 dollars,Ebay gets nothing.
Many sellers have raised their shipping fee,in certain categories, they have the upper hand.

have you considered experimenting with both?

I list everything with free shipping. It is always easy to assume people will think your prices are higher... but the human mind works in mysterious ways and seems to fall for gimmicks like "free shipping" or $4.99 instead of $5.00.

I can tell you this much. I have two accounts. One is vintage collectibles, the other is new items people can buy in the mall.

I am constantly selling my new merchandise for as much as double vs. the next guy because I include free shipping, I have much better photographs, and much better return policies.

Besides, do you always want that bottom feeder looking for a bargain?

I had a Canadian email me yesterday wanting to know if I would take an offer for an item listed at $55, well below mall prices. His offer: $25. On top of that, he asked me to ship it a cheaper method. I thanked him for his offer, and immediately blocked him from bidding. Why? It is bottom feeders who want it for nothing, and will be the first to find something to complain about.

Ironically, I sold the item today to someone who didn't bother me with low ball offers and asking for reduced shipping costs.
