CNN Headline News has just gotten a face-lift. But instead of being more dedicated to hard news and political reports, CNN has adopted an MTV Short-Attention-Span style interface and has deleted any news worth watching. While having related facts flashing on the screen to the news reports that have been truncated to two sentences apiece is handy and quicker, I'll admit, but the content is all fluff on a par with the National Enquirer and the Globe. CNN Headline News is effectively dead.

"Give the masses what they want....."

But they already have the FoxNews Channel for that, plus America's Funnies Home Videos, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, SitComs that are totally pathetic, and Fox Network. Hell, even CNN's so-called in-depth programs have all been dumbed-down as well. It's now at the point that I have to go on the Internet to get all of the news that I want to read and hear about.

I was wondering why the Larry King Show was playing an old re-run of an interview with Walter Cronkite where Walt was talking about the dumbing down of American TV and the News in particular. Now I know why.
