This is going to be dull.

I am a little out of touch which very well may surprise some of you, gasp.

We have been though angels, and bears, and cats, and dragon flies, etc. etc. Where are we now? I need to know what's "in". Are dragon flies "out" yet?

Don't ever do "the thing", ripped the tags right off every beanie we ever got and threw it in the toy box. I need advice.

While you're at it just go ahead and tell me EVERYTHING that's "in" whether it's a creature or not.

Animal prints. Home decor, apparel, furnishings, etc. Anything animal print is considered "in".

I didn't know that dragonflies had ever *been* in. But then, I don't follow fads all that closely. But if you're talking collectibles, I can tell you that pigs *never* go out of style. Same with cows. And trolls seem to have made a come back.

LOL, they never go out of style here at AW.

Oh gosh, great stuff but none of those will work for my project. Hmm..

Other ideas?

Hepburn, I read that animal prints were OUT and camouflage was in...especially orange. Where's that going to camouflage you, in a pumpkin patch?

But camo will not exactly work for my project either. I need to paint an "in thing" on something ...but I can't tell you what it is.
It's something I saw someone selling on ebay and they are getting a GOOD price ($27 SO FAR with 3 days to go) for this unusual (to be painted) item which I have a ton of that are only worth $3 (if they even sell) as is. I want to snag their idea. They painted birdhouses on this "mysterious thing".

jt, I have consulted the oracle.
The three "hot" trends are going to be
Wooly Mammoth Tusks,
Mongolian Thumb Rings
and
Racing Camel Saddles.

Then I can only go with Wooly Mammoth Tusks.

It is NOT bigger than a bread box.

Hearts are always in ~
Stars, too.
Will they work for you?

jt The theory is that animals don't see in color so the pattern of the camo works fine for them seen in grey tones but the orange color will keep other hunters from shooting you. In reality I have seen behavior thar makes me think animals often do have some color sense but a drunk hunter has none.

LOL at the drunk hunter!

Tie dye is hot, yes to camo stuff, too!
Country home accents.
Renewing wedding vows.
Harley Davidson.

What exactly are you looking for here, jt?
Is this helping at all?

Frogs will always be considered "in". Also, anything celestial.

Gee, I missed the dragonfly craze as well. I must have been sleeping.

I'm afraid I am no help at all as I figure what I like is what is in. My teenage daughter tells me otherwise, but I ignore her.

Good luck with your project, whatever it is.

By the time something is "in" with the general public, it's "out".

Sorry, I missed this thread's growth all together.

It's bigger than a can of soup and more rectangular. Hearts are good maybe. So far I have done one swallow-tail butterfly. Now I wonder if it will sell like this other person's did. As much as I would like to sell art (as opposed to this item with something painted on it), I am a big chicken.

gravid: LOL at the drunk hunter!

Unfortunately it grinds at my backside that many of the stores put up signs that read
"Deer hunter's suitcase special!"

Beer and guns, guns and beer.

Of course the REAL deer camps are always kicking someone out if that happens.

Now, Gravid, I see your point but I want to see a guy hunt in that strappy orange camo mini-dress that I was thinking of. MAYBE with enough beer, it might work.

Watch Martha. Everytime she does anything, everyone runs out to copy her. Those yuk green dishes of hers. She should be changing the color (if she hasn't already) any day now so her groupies can buy the new stuff and make her richer.

Beauty and quality are always in. Things boomers played with (or read) as kids seem to do well.

Somehow SW decor items still sell, though western is doing better.

Lots of people collect animals. Porcelain, stuffed, taxidermy. Pigs and cows seem to be popular (though the taxidermied ones are hard to ship). I can't sell a cow to save my life on eBay, but they fly off the shelf at my local consignment shop.

I still see the "Shabby Chic" phrase a lot on eBay, so I guess that must still be popular.

As for new stuff, I haven't a clue. Between yardsales and eBay, I think the only things I buy retail anymore are gas for the truck and food.

LOL. Save a ton!

This OTHER PERSON'S THING is now at $29 with over a day to go. I paid 40 cents for each of mine. I must get busy!
