To: Mr. Jefferson Davis Rushmore IV
From: Mrs. Nancy
Date: August 10, 2001

Dear Mr Rushmore,

The answer to your first question in your recent letter is found in Scripture: "A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house". We compassionate conservatives should never let pass an opportunity to talk about the Good News of the Government of our beloved Leader, President Bush II.

When I told my neighbor about your proposal to trade 3 million American liberals for 3 million faithful Mexican voters, she could barely contain herself. Ecstatically, she told me about the government of Germany. In the thirties they created a special reservation for liberals. Police went door-to-door to round up all people suspected of liberal tendencies, and without further ado they were put on one-way trains to Dachau. Also Non-Christians were rounded up and put in special reservations (I am sorry, I forgot the names of the places). The Boy and Girl Scouts (the HJ and BDM in German) were enlisted in special campaigns to search and arrest people with homosexual tendencies. The Germany of the thirties is such an inspiring example for compassionate conservatives! We will certainly propose this magnificent idea of yours to our beloved Leader, President Bush II.

You comparing me with my great namesake Nancy Reagan flatters me. She was such a magnificent moral leader during the Second Phase of the Nixon-Regan-Bush Revolution. After the era of "Just Say NO", we now enter the age of YES. Yes to the Tax Cut, Yes to Faith Guided Missiles, Yes to the Bush-iosi of Oil, Gas, Coal and their drill teams, Yes to the Second Coming of the Nukes, Yes to Global Temperature Enhancement, Yes to Home schooling and School Vouchers, Yes to the Hmos, Yes to John Ashcroft, Gale Norton, and the NRA. Yes to the Armies of Compassion and their War for the Unborn, the Stem Cell and total abstinence. Thanks to the Honor and Dignity Team of our beloved Leader American Firepower Rules the world. Compassionate Conservatism floods the World. Rule or
Ruin!

Yours, in compassionate conservatism,
Nancy

LOLOLOL

This letter seems to rather go to heart of the matter that was derailed in the ponderment thread.

Hilter's propaganda machine was largely modeled after the ancient traditional practices of the Roman Catholic Church, though today's indoctrinations seem more firmly grounded in those of the religious right. The Enlightened Inquistion. LOL

I'm on my way to bed and will be gone tomorrow so I can't respond further, but I couldn't resist expressing my admiration for the poignant parody and its juxtaposition to the quotation from Child's study in the ponderment thread.

Antiquary! Just as I was leaving, I spotted your post. It's so good to see you here again and I am looking forward to your return!

I want to apologize for my part in the derailment of the ponderment thread. I was alone there wiith opposition that rattled my brain, temporarily... I hope.

Nancy's comical parody, as usual is fantastic!
LoL

I especially like her reference to "Faith" Guided Missiles. I wonder if there is a prayer service before launch?

Shosh

You have a great picture tutorial on your web site. I thought that I knew everything about images until I read it!!!

Thanks for your greeting. Four good enemies go a long way so it's good to keep in mind that there are such fine people as you out there.

And isn't it great to hear from Antiquary!

Helen

To get back on the topic of Bush, and something
"intelligent and profound" [b]LoLI read that Social Security cuts are being considered now. That's not a surprise.

Hi Guys!

It's very good to see all of you. I was just checking in to see what and who was going on and was impressed with the clever presentation of the topic of political propaganda and the use of the word ponderment. An interesting extension would be an analysis of its use in the forum itself as it cuts across all types of threads. I didn't think that the original ponderment was necessarily intentionally derailed; often I think that it occurs in the natural evolution of threads. Mainly I was rather pleased that it led to the coining of the phrase Enlighted Inquisition, which I rather like as an epithet for the new and improved far right strategies.

Wish that I could stay longer but RL is keeping me pretty involved. I still enjoy the forum and posters very much however and perhaps eventually I'll be able to participate again.

Ken, ditto.
