Even while bush soothes the Chinese by agreeing that they may have need to increase their missile capabilities in response to the missile defence system joke, U.S. troops and forces are being shifted away from european bases toward asia. Build their confidence so that he can then find reason to attack them?

Is that, in his perverse way of thinking, a sure path to reelection? How many presidents have NOT been reelected while engaged in a war (Lyndon decided not to try).

Even a limited war, a police action (always loved that phrase), feeds the producers of war materiale in a very big way.

So a war for dumbya, so he can feel as though he's found his glory, so he can obtain reelection, so he can repay, in part, all of those who bought him his chair.

I don't think it's outside the realm of right wing perversity to hatch such a plot.

Romance and Bush. Didn't several people on the prostitution thread point out that the two aren't in any way linked?

Someone just sent me this email today and know how LOVED Bush is on these boards, I thought I'd pass this along.

What happens when a president gets elected in a year with
a "0" at the end?
(notice it goes in increments of 20 years and look where it lands
this year.)

1840: William Henry Harrison (Died in Office)
1860: Abraham Lincoln (Assassinated)
1880: James A. Garfield (Assassinated)
1900: William McKinley (Assassinated)
1920: Warren G. Harding (Died in Office)
1940: Franklin D. Roosevelt (Died in Office)
1960: John F. Kennedy (Assassinated)
1980: Ronald Reagan (Survived Assassination Attempt)
2000: ???????????????????????????????????????
And to think that we had 2 guys duking it out in the courts to be the
one elected in 2000.

Right now China has about a dozen launch vehicles that can reach US territory. If they wanted to drop about 300 warheads on every possible location of them with multiple strikes incase one failed they could remove Chinas capacity completely and render them non-nuclear. Keeping them that way would be tough. It would not surprise me to see them send a ship or plane a little close and claim a "Gulf of Tonklin" type incident to give them an excuse. It would not surprise me to see a payback for the spy plane humiliation as soon as he took office.

On another note if anyone has information about Isreals weapons purchases I expect a buying spurt would signal they are tired of being pecked to death and are about ready to roll over the Palestineans.
