I was out and about today for the first time since Tuesday. I was very impressed by how friendly, helpful and polite people were today.
Seattle is not known for being warm and friendly but today it felt more like some of the small towns I've visited.

My daughter, bless her heart, wanted to get me out of my gloom, so she took me to lunch - to a place owned by Lebanese people. On the way there, I had an urge to buy flowers and a card, which I planned to take to
a refugee Iranian Lady who owns an Arabic/Hebrew foods and gift items store.
So we went after lunch.
She told me how some customers to whom she had sold for years, Arabs, Americans, Jews, including the Ultra Orthodox Lubavitch, had recently sent her phone threats and mail...This Lady fled from Iran 15 years ago
, grabbing her two daughters...nothing else....How sad!
I had signed my card both in Arabic and in Hebrew...We held onto each other for several minutes, while all the pain and sorrow flowed out of our eyes and our very soul...
Yes, people are very receptive when someone offers the olive branch. To the zealots, I say, beware that you do not harm or kill the wrong people, right here, in this country.

Great post. I've heard in the news how Mid-eastern people have been harassed and threatened. Mosques and homes in this Country have been vandalized. Hate is ugly no matter which side it is on.
On the positive side, I also heard today though that some people were bringing them flowers. This whole thing seems to be separating kind hearted from the zealots.
