Hypothetically - what if Afghanastan decides to turn over Osama bin Laden? What if they just wrap him up in a big bow and deliver him to George Bush's doorstep? What would we do then? Any thoughts? It could happen...

Then we should tell them thank you for avoiding the end of the world this time. We should never hesitate to give praise and thanks where it is due.

It makes little difference, They HAVE to pay a price for supporting him. Otherwise tomorrow someone else will set up shop. There has to be incentive for them to say no.

I think turning Bin Laden over would be the smart thing for the Afghans to do. With Iran and Pakistan closing their borders, and the other bordering countries being urged to do the same, they stand to face a major economic crisis, on top of the war that is being threatened.
I can't see the Taliban doing this though... not because they are dumb, but because they truly believe in their cause, obviously enough to die or lose thousands of lives for it.
DeSquirrel has the right idea though - even if Bin Laden is handed over, this cannot be let go. What about the thousands of people he has indoctrinated in cells all over the world?
How would he be punished? Death is too quick and easy for him.
