With all the high emotions, commentary and theorising during the last week I do not seem to have heard any comments, one way or the other, coming out of China.
This to me seems strange and disturbing, given that a country the size of China, and fast becoming a major player in the global and political economy, has said nothing, or at least nothing that I can recall to mind.
China, a country of millions and also with nuclear capability, remains mute.
Is it beyond the realms of possibility that China is in any way connected to the events of this past week?

Hi Bob, it is strange but I only made that same comment to someone a couple of hours ago and I was told that Mr. Bush had been having talks with China in the last day or so. I really do not know if this is correct or not, it would be interesting to know the right answer though.

Please see this news report, from Saturday, September 15: http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/20010915/wl/attack_china_dc_4.html
"BEIJING (Reuters) - China's leading newspaper gave only muted coverage on Saturday to a resolution by a security forum of China, Russia and central Asian states to join forces in a war on terrorism.
The tone of the People's Daily coverage appeared to reflect China's ambivalence about the implications of a global anti-terrorism effort spearheaded by the United States that could result in military intervention.
On Friday, prime ministers of Russia, China and four Central Asian states vowed in a joint statement to fight the ''terrorism'' that devastated the United States this week.
