I think we need a small distraction, don't answer if you don't want to

Allan "Rocky" Lane

3) Where did the Chipmunks in the Chipmunks' "Christmas Song" get their names?

They were named after three executive officers from Liberty Records: Alvin Bennett, Si Waronker and Ted Keep.

4) Who were the doges of Venice?

The chief magistrates of the republic of Venice and of Genoa.


5) When was the first gladiatorial combat?

The first recorded gladiatorial combats occured in 264 BCE.

There are 24

3) Where did the Chipmunks in the Chipmunks' "Christmas Song" get their names?
Songwriter and performer David Seville chose the names for hte "stars" of his 1958 hit record. Simon and Alvin were named for two executives at Liberty Records. Simon Waronker and Al Bennett. Theodore was named for Ted Keep, the recording engineer.

4) Who were the doges of Venice?
They were elected dukes who ruled the city-state of Venice and controlled much of the eastern Mediterranean coast. Their reigns tended to be short - often 1 to 10 years. Venice was an independent city-state from 697 until 1797, when Napoleon conquered it.

5) When was the first gladiatorial combat?
The first known gladiatorial contest took place in Rome in 264 B.C.

6) who invented the boxing glove?
Jakc Broughton of Great Britain. (in 1734) He also wrote the first set of boxing rules.
