The US was by far the hardest hit be these horrible attacks. My dad sent me this web page that shows how the rest of the world was affected by this as well...

Decided to bump this up because I keep wondering if these people and/or their families are having anything done for them?

I missed the beginning of the President's speech last night and was wondering did he make mention of the fact that there were people from all over the world in the WTC when it was struck? Seems to me that this was an attack on the whole world and not just American. We were chosen as the target because of who we are and what we stand for, but according to this, many from around the world were killed along side our own citizens.

Many thanks Sulyn. Our Prime Minister was there. I guess Europe is united with USA. Edited to add http://www.wtcfund.org.uk

Yes, he did.

Our Prime Minister was there. I guess Europe is united with USA.

I was most impressed by Tony Blair being there.

Thanks Microbes-I hated missing the first part and haven't read a transcript of it yet, I'm glad to see it was acknowledged.

In view of that, you would think all the countries that lost citizens would be seeking to bring those responsible to justice on their own or at least supporting us 100%. Maybe they are, I just haven't heard much about it on our regional news broadcasts. I'll start paying closer attention to what is being said by whom.

If I'm not mistaken, there is a link to a transcript of the speech in godzillatemple's "I'll Say This For Bush ..." thread.

"Nor will we forget the citizens of 80 other nations who died with our own. Dozens of Pakistanis, more than 130 Israelis, more than 250 citizens of India, men and women from El Salvador, Iran, Mexico and Japan, and hundreds of British citizens."

Thanks spazmodeus for pointing the link out to me (I had missed it in the other thread ) and I want to thank gravid for posting it. I'm posting it here too, it was a wonderful speech and I think everyone who had a hand in it needs a special thanks!!!

Our Prime Minister was in Washington when the bombings occurred, he committed support to America , and we already have some troops in the US and a ship the HMAS Anzac is already in the Gulf.

You are right about this being a world wide thing, yes the first tragic event did happen in America but it will be carried on all over the world I fear. Just this morning not 20 minutes away from my house a Mosque was fire bombed this is the second fire bombing of a mosque in Brisbane this week, now what did these poor people do to deserve this sort of treatment. They were not the terrorists a lot of them were born in Australia yet because of there religion and the colour of there skin, or the sound of there voices they are targeted by violence. So yes I would say this is a world wide thing and none of us should forget that.
