I get the following message after I've installed McAfee Virus Scanner:

"The virus definition files are corrupted. Please reinstall the product."

I've tried to install this software several times. I've uninstalled it a few times and reinstalled it. I had installed this software on my other computer without problems several months ago.

Does virus scanning software just go bad on the shelf??

Do this reinstall the birus scan ignore the notice if you can and down load New virus definition files from mcafee.

The program don't go bad on the shelf the files can and will be out of date on install.

this should fix your problem if it dont then go to mcafee and run a virus scan on the computer see if it has a virus already.

If it will install on one computer, but not the other, this is what I would do.

I've tried going to McAfee website, but it just comes up a white page. Doesn't do anything at all.

Are there any other virus software that works good?

NORTON! I hated McAfee. I had all kinds of problems with it. I finally tossed it out and got Norton which works beautifully.

You can also get a free scan here at PC Cillin's House Call:

http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_pcc.asp

Hope this helps and do look into getting Norton on your machine.
