While searching for information to verify the Gray Davis/anthrax scare, I came across an article by one Dr. Steven Tharratt, written at least a year ago, in which he cautions about the threat of bio-terrorism -- specifically anthrax. But the paragraph that leapt out at me was this one:
"BUT BIOLOGICAL TERRORISM HAS OCCURED IN THE U.S. THE "INNOCENCE WAS LOST" WHEN 751 PEOPLE WERE INTENTIONALLY INFECTED WITH SALMONILLA FROM TARGETED SALAD BARS IN OREGON. WHILE CRUDE, IT WAS A WAKE-UP CALL THAT PREPARATION FOR A BIOLOGICAL ATTACK WAS A NECESSITY."
I've searched for specific information about this incident and can't find anything. Anyone living in Oregon remember the details of this story? When it happened, whether or not the perpetrators were ever caught, etc.?
Anyone wishing to read the article Imentioned above will find it here:

Sorry, Tigress, the people who manage the UC Davis website where the article is stored formatted it that way. Maybe you could just read the questions...

I saw an article yesterday, but haven't looked for it again yet, that described the claim of a particularly volatile sounding born again christian anti abortionist who claims that he has enough anthrax spore (or whatever they call it) to infect all of the people in a named midwestern state.
I passed it by because I was looking for something else and now don't remember how I got there.

Those rasneesh people were strange.
They were everywhere in Santa Cruz for a couple of years, had several businesses, including gas stations, health food stores, clothing, massage, hot tub businesses. Pretty well established. Then one day they all left in a caravan and went to oregon because we were going to fall into the sea or something. All of them were always in dyed red clothes--jeans, shirts, suits, whatever, all rit dyed.

Well, now that Spaz has reverted to being a test pattern, I'll post an anthrax fact:
Eleven percent (11%) of family planning clinics nationwide received threatening anthrax letters. In January, 2000, over 30 clinics received such threats.

I never met or saw anyone affiliated with Rajneesh. Lots of Eastern religious figures -- Buddhist monks, some Hindus, The Dalai Lama -- wear red. Red silk, especially.
We have a local sadhu here who wanders the streets downtown in saffron-colored clothes. Quite a mutterer he is, too...
They made such a big fuss over tracking the profiteers who apparently made much by short selling AA and some insurance stocks, but then they went quiet about it.
