Since he is attending evening classes, just about *any* job will fit into his school schedule.

Want him to get a job? Stop sending him money. Or, if you just can't bear to cut him off cold turkey, give him a deadline, a date on which the money will stop coming. I can guarantee you that he will find a job.

Thank you for the advice, but what the problem is that they dont live in dorms, they have to rent apartments and we had to co-sign.The rent is high (1000.00 a month). No one out there wants to rent to the kids so we had to take what we could get.He has roomates but if he falls behind we are responsible.I guess we'll just have to keep on him.

You could send the rent money directly to his landlord so you won't have to worry about him having a place to live.
If, however, he also expects to eat...

looney2ns: BlondeSense made a good suggestion. Of course, if you take that route, you are still in the position of paying to support him.

However, you *could* take BlondeSense's suggestion but still give your son a deadline after which you will stop paying his rent for him. Send a letter to the landlord (with a copy to your son) stating that after such-and-such a date you will no longer be responsible for the rent.

If you stand firm & don't give in the any pleading or whining that ensues, your son *will* learn to stand on his own two feet.
