They gave away secrets in the Gulf War and God knows where else. Today, the bright stars told everyone who tuned in that most of our weapon detectors in the airports don't work. Isn't that sweet?
So while the airlines and the military are sweating it out trying to make things safe for everyone flying, Missy Newscaster gets on CNN no less and smiles while she said it.

This is not exsactly head line news, everyone knows no matter how much money you pour into security nothing is 100% fool proof working everytime.
I seen a hour long report just on this subject on MSNBC last night, NBC Editors and producers actually were Hired in secuirty posts with no back ground check or training at two different US airports and by the same security company.
were able to gain access even to plane cabins and cockpits No question asked.
Were Checking bagage not by opening the bags all the way up but just partly unzipping and sticking there hand in in plan view of supiorvisors could have just as well been putting something in the bag as well as check to make sure something wasn't there.
Its not the security put in place that don't work it would work if the companies doing the hireing would do there reasearch and jobs the way they should.
Problem is most security personnel are paid min wage or just above the turn over is fast and there main objective is just to have another warm body to fill the opening ....

Right, that's the way it was prior to 9/11. Now there are National Guardsmen roaming the airports and better security, supposedly.
The fact that this bimbo stated that on television was alarming. She made it headline news tonight.

CNN? Oh, it was probably that awful Paula Zahn. I've given up CNN because of her. The permanent sneer on her face makes me want to reach through the screen and smack her.

You're 100% correct Zazzie and she's got the loosest ones yet. I don't know who it was, some blonde with a permanent smile, probably tattooed on her face.

Dirty Laundry
"I make my living off the Evening News
Just give me something-something I can use
People love it when you lose,
They love dirty laundry
Well, I coulda been an actor, but I wound up here
I just have to look good, I don't have to be clear
Come and whisper in my ear
Give us dirty laundry
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
(repeat)
Kick 'em all around
We got the bubble-headed-bleach-blonde who
comes on at five
She can tell you 'bout the plane crash with a gleam
in her eye
It's interesting when people die-
Give us dirty laundry
Can we film the operation?
Is the head dead yet?
You know, the boys in the newsroom got a
running bet
Get the widow on the set!
We need dirty laundry
You don't really need to find out what's going on
You don't really want to know just how far it's gone
Just leave well enough alone
Eat your dirty laundry
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
(repeat)
Kick 'em when they're stiff
Kick 'em all around
Dirty little secrets
Dirty little lies
We got our dirty little fingers in everybody's pie
We love to cut you down to size
We love dirty laundry
We can do "The Innuendo"
We can dance and sing
When it's said and done we haven't told you a thing
We all know that Crap is King
Give us dirty laundry!

I've thought for a while now that the terrorists would be watching the news and taking notes. "Oh, ya.. That sounds like a good idea, let's try it."

dman3...I heard on some station (they are all blurred together at this point) that security workers for one of the airlines have received a 50% in pay. That won't do a whole hell of a lot until the airlines tighten up their screening process for hiring tho'.
Jmho2, regarding TV news, I've have seen numerous "specials" in recent weeks, where the reporters go "undercover" and fly hither and yone with weapons (knives mostly) and other contraband, untouched by airport/airline security....Sometimes I sit watching in totally disbelief at the information that the news just gives away!
Now, I've also heard that Hollywood writers have been brought in to aid in the terrorist investigation, given that they have quite an imagination on terror attacks, with some basis in truth. Why not put that talent to use? 100% security is virtually impossible, but we certainly can create the "illusion" of security (it's not too hard to do, personally, I maintain the "illusion of clean" in my home! LOL) and maybe, just maybe, that might scare off a few of the nutjobs planning attacks.

jmho2...You maintain an "illusion of clean" in your home. How does one do that? Please let us know, as I can't seem to find the instructions It's pretty simple, even my DH can do it (on cleanin' day, he will ask are we shootin' for "clean" or "the illusion of clean" All ya have to do is just straighten up and NEVER let anyone look too closely!
Terrorism is part surprize and part mind game. We are pretty smart, but still don't play the mind game very well. I'm pretty sure we could do a good job, if only we would get started!
