Ok, so you get a piece of mail from a company you regularly receive mail from. It's shrinkwrapped on the outside and has other pieces inside that are shrinkwrapped as well. You're going along, opening everything and notice something on your hand. You look at the shrinkwrapped parts that were inside and notice a white powder all over one of them. You've never seen powder on them before and you've been getting these for at least 6-12 months.
Also, you were behind on opening them, so you were opening two at one time. The latest one arrived within the past couple of weeks and the oldest one you've had for 1 - 1 1/2 months or so. You have no idea which one this powder was in because you weren't paying attention, you had no reason to be suspicious.
What would you do? Yes, this happened to me today and I'll tell everyone what I did after I get some responses.

Even tho' is a regular delivery, because it is a "company" and not an individual (eg. I really don't know WHO could have sent it out from the company) I would do the following:
1) Freak!
2) Without moving too far, I would grab something to put over my mouth/nose
3) Gather ALL the mail & other items that were in the area I was workin in
4) Put them all into a sealer container (plastic bag, whatever they would fit into)
5) Strip off my clothes and put them all into another bag
6) Wash down myself & the effected area with bleach
7) Call my DH, who would very gently tell me that I was overeacting
8) Hang up on DH (after using a few choice words)
9) Call the local authorities
10) Get dressed & wait for authorities

A few years ago, I would have slammed my head to the table with a finger over one nostril, and inhaled for all I was worth...

Sure, go ahead & laugh....How's about alittle sympathy for the coke dealers?....Think it's easy selling a product that is identical to a biological weapon?....Ya gotta be a real head to "taste" it....Hmmmmm, anthrax or blow, feelin' lucky????
Hey, I wonder if this USPS crackdown on white power will actually have an impact on the Drug war???

LMAO @ Pocono!
Ok, I promised I would tell you what I did:
1: Nervously called to my husband in the other room.
2: Showed him the powder on my finger.
3: Started to quietly freak.
4: Sat there for a minute trying to answer his question, "What do you want to do?"
5: Asked him to go get a plastic zipper bag.
6: Put all the stuff in the bag.
7: He took out the paper sack the outer wrapper had been put in.
8: Washed my hands thoroughly.
9: Changed my clothes.
10: Took everything outside.
11: Developed a wait & see attitude.
12: Looked up the symptoms of Anthrax so I know when I need to go to the hospital!
Of course the first thing I almost did with the powder was sniff it. I stopped myself. I know they've gotten a lot of false alarms and this one didn't fit the profile, so that's why I didn't call. But if I get sick, at least I have the evidence. I do plan to call the company and ask why on earth there might be powder in it and suggest they change their methods for the time being! So are ya'll proud I didn't lose my mind?

I thought you were gonna say that there was Tide or something in the package. Now that we know the rest of the story I would strongly urge you to take that package and go to the hospital.
ANTRAX IS DEADLY ... you cannot take chances. All they will give you is antibiotics anyway. Hubby should go, too.
