No - I remember reading there are other antibiotics that do work against anthrax but not the specially raised strains that are resistant to treatment. They are just not the first choice.
When they find a deliver method that gets to a large number of children then you will see a whole new level of anger.

My mother works in a doctors' office, and there was some discussion about it last week there. According to her, the doctors have received notification from SCDHEC that Augmentin is the drug of choice for children - it contains penicillin (which is also effective against Anthrax), along with another antibiotic.

The sad fact is that if people keep using antibiotics at the drop of a hat as we've become accustomed to doing in the past 20+ years, we'll have a lot more to worry about than what antibiotic will work in the remote chance one is exposed to anthrax. Already, many diseases are developing resistance to our antibiotics.
