I need either a great digital camera or a great film scanner. Right now I'm leaning toward the Nikon Coolscan 4000 film scanner. I could go with a camera instead like the Nikon D1X but the purchase of the lenses would really hurt me. I've got a lot of camera gear and a load of high grade lenses. Anyone else using a film scanner that they'd care to give some info on? Am I silly to go with the film scanner over the digital camera?

It's OK uaru. I knew that remark came from the guy who stole your ID and not you. Don't worry.
I have a great Umax scanner (Astra 1220S) that was only about $150.00 but have come way down in price. I have an Olympus D-510ZOOM which sells for about $350.00 U.S. I LOVE it!! Since I bought it, I haven't used the scanner, so I don't know if you'd need both. Scanners are very limiting.
