We found this "buried" in our small local newspaper. Sure to become an old family favorite.

Enjoy!

Kitty Litter Cake

1 spice or chocolate cake mix
1 white cake mix
1 large package vanilla instant pudding
1 package vanilla sandwich cookies
Green food coloring
12 small Tootsie Rolls
1 Brand new kitty litter pan
1 Brand new kitty litter pan liner
1 Brand new pooper scooper (for dishing up the cake)

Prepare cakes according to directions in any pan size. Prepare pudding mix and chill. Crumble the vanilla sandwich cookies in a food processor. Set aside all but 1/4 cup. To the 1/4 cup add a few drops of the green food coloring and mix using "5" on the food processor. When cakes are cool, crumble both into a large bowl. Toss with half of the remaining white cookie crumbs and the chilled pudding (mix in just enough pudding to moisten it--you don't want it to get soggy). Line the new litter box with the liner and put the cake mixture inside. Put three unwrapped Tootsie Rolls in the microwave and heat until soft and pliable. Shape the ends so they are no longer blunt. Repeat with three more Tootsie Rolls and bury in mixture. Sprinkle the other half of the cookie crumbs over the top. Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly over the top (this is supposed to look like the chlorophyll in kitty litter). Heat three Tootsie Rolls in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them onto the top of the cake and sprinkle with some of the cookie crumbs. Heat remaining Tootsie Rolls, shape and lay on top. Take one and heat until pliable and hang it over the side of the kitty litter box. Sprinkle all lightly with cookie crumbs. Place the box on a newspaper and sprinkle some cookie crumbs around on the newspaper.

Someone actually had to think this up! Can you believe it?

You know what the scary thing is? I almost made this for a friend about two weeks ago. I decided it was WAY too complicated.
