Tonight is the last chance for many posters to issue their manifestos. If you are having a hard time getting started, need some ideas, or are in the mood to plagiarize, then surf you way over to the Manifesto Archive.
Remember, originality (or stealing from really obscure sources) counts and that most of us aren't going to read past your first sentence anyway. So open with a zinger.
I think that those of us who are staying should give awards for the best. Goodbyes don't count of course. And then I can pick up tips to help with my ongoing work to write the Great OAI Manifesto.

I kinda thought mine was funny. Apparently I was wrong. I'd like to sign up for the manifesto course please?
Oh and I'd like to start with the spinach salad with ranch.

LOL, Eventer. You're great.
Manifestoes as an internet genre are appropriate to any occasion and easily adapted to fit any environment or simply the prevailing mood at the moment. In fact, it's my belief that the most powerful ones have to be done dispassionately with a critical eye toward literary legacy.
Of course, that's only my view and I can't speak for the forum as a whole. As a still evolving communicative form on the internet, others will and should hold varying interpretatons of the importance of purpose and theme in evaluating the merits of the creative composition.
It's all a paradox! Do you remember that thread with the play on punctuation, pair of dots, etc. That was great fun.
