I've been off-line and tonight I was trying to catch up on my reading. I did a site search to see if there had been any replies since about a week ago to an EO thread I started about a domain name transfer problem.
The message I received back was:
Sorry, the database couldn't be reached.
Does anyone know if this is simply a temporary glitch or is it a part the new and improved AW?

I think they had a computer problem or glitch with the boards earlier this afternoon and they were down for a few hours. Maybe it's the same problem also affecting site search?

If this is true, I definately won't stay. What's the sense of posting on a board where I can't dredge up and post links from the dusty recesses, either to illustrate some peripheral point, or just to show that I can?

Not so dusty since MarkAW did the housecleaning last January, Donny.
You'd be surprised how useful site search can be. For example, it took me only a 30 second site search some months ago to acertain Scanjoon's AW identity.
Now I'd just be happy to find my EO thread about my domain name transfer problem.

Ah, when the basis of expertise is removed, the playing field is levelled. I've out-researched Stockticker! Here's your thread:

Oh, I don't dare show you the link with the proof, Donny. I can't have you thinking I'm trying to illustrate some peripheral point, or simply showing that that I can.
