Do you watch foreign films? If so, do you go to the theater or rent the video? Does your video store have a good selection of foreign films? I'm mad because a French film,"Amelie", has gotten a good review by my favorite critic yet it is only playing at a small theater downtown. I find it hard to believe that in a cosmopolitan area like DC you have to attend a foreign film fest or the like in order to see really good foreign flicks. What's it like where you are?

Yes, I watch foreign films. It's hard to get to see them in the theatres, though, as none of the theatres in my area would even think of picking up a foreign unless a) it becomes a big hit (a la Das Boot) or b it has a high probability of local interest (only one of those so far: El Mariachi). It is 40 miles or so to the nearest theatres that show foreign films with any regularity & I'm so busy most times that I can't get to them often.
