Former Enron Executive Dies in Apparent Suicide

"Baxter had an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head," Whitty said. He was discovered inside a vehicle ... A suicide note was found at the scene. There was no sign of foul play. Inside his wallet was an ID indicating he was an employee of Enron."

Remember during Clinton's scandal, how Republicans kept goging on and on and on about how Clinton had "murdered" or ordered killed that one guy in his cabinet who took his own life? Should we not now cry "BUSH ORDERS ENRON EXEC ASSASSINATED TO COVER UP ADMINISTRATION INVOVEMENT IN SCANDAL?"

It's virtually impossible to incriminate or implicate anyone if your taking a dirt nap. Suicide?

I would like to know who these guys are trying to protect. It looks like there is many people in high positions involved here. I bet there is more "suicide" to come.

I wonder how many of the others at Enron who were questioning the appearance of fraud are going to "commit suicide?" If he committed suicide he had a lot to hide, if he was murdered others have a lot more to hide then has already been made public. But, we knew that!

Its all pretty pat to me. The assassin is riding in the car with the guy -- someone the victim knows. A silencer is screwed onto a gun and the victim is made to pull over the car. The assassin gets out of the car, and then shoots the victim in the head. The silencer is removed and the pistol lay in the victim's hand. Conveniently, a Suicide Note is left behind for the police to find! The corrupt police "find" the body - and the note, and call it a 'suicide' -- long before an autopsy is done! Imagine that!

Let's look at the facts: if the guy was going to take his own life, would he have done it inside his car? Maybe, if it was a decision on the spur of the moment. But a suicide note shows that he planned his own death in advance! No one takes the time to write their suicide note, then get into their car, drive somewhere, and blow their brains out! If they get into a car - they crash the car or they drive off of a cliff -- you know what I mean? And if they are going to commit suicide in a car, they sure as heel don't take along a suicide note (might get splattered with too much blood, catch on fire in a crash, etc.) Nope. This guy was MURDERED -- and the Police, Enron, and Bush will sweep it all under the rug!

It's not that the guy knew too much -- he was made into an example. Perhaps they felt that he might break under investigation and prosecution. In any event, just like the Anthrax letters sent to Democrats, the message has been given!

Nothing to hide? What do you think?

I read in a foreign paper this morning that congressional investigators had tried to interview him last week while they were in Houston.
According to this newspaper he has repeatedly been mentioned in hearings as someone who understood Enron's complex structure, in particular the thousands of subsidiaries it used to hide losses and avoid tax.

I should add the link to the story.

http://www.portal.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=%2Fnews%2F2002%2F01%2F26%2Fwenron26.xml

Bush, who has been trying to distance himself from Enron refers to Lay as "kenny boy".

With the question..."How much did the President know?" on the line, murder would not be an outrageous possibility in my opinion.

From the link above:

"The death of Mr Baxter, 43, is a major blow to congressional and criminal investigators trying to find out how Enron plunged from being one of the most admired businesses in America to bankruptcy in a few months."

How Convenient for Enron and Bush!! My! No need for Stooges like Col. Oliver North this time! Nope. Good Ole' American Assassination works even better, 'cause it's so permanent!

Sorry, but the autopsy was completed today and without a doubt it was suicide. Nice try though.

But that is what they said about Kurt Cobain, too. Official and reality do not necessarily mean the same thing.

Fantastic! You actually saw the body? Did the forensic pathology and/or read the coroner's report? What marvelous connections you must have! Well, then: if you say it - it must be so!

Occam's Razor states that the simplest explantion tends to be the correct one. In this case, the simplest explantion is that he was murdered -- suicide is simply the most conveinent explantion, which is not the same thing.
