Hi, I know there are some garden experts here so what is the best time of the year to replant rose bushes. Since we put a 10X16 shed (my eBay shed) in the back yard 4 of my rose bushes hardly get any sun. Any tips (not monetary) would be appreciated. Thanks! Barbara

Here's a website that details a large scale transplant effort. Our garden club moved about two hundred roses on one weekend in March. The link is to the home page, but if you look at the bottom there's a link to more details about transplanting roses.

I've never moved any rose bushes myself, but I suspect the best time to do that is when the bush is dormant (i.e. before it starts to sprout growth in the spring) in order to provide the least amount of shock to the plant. Exactly when that is will depend on your climate.

Hi,
I live very close to a company that is well known for roses so I went to their site:
http://www.jacksonandperkins.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ExecMacro/faq.d2w/report?question=q11#L11
(Not sure how to link that, so if you copy/paste it ought to work). Anyway that link takes you right to a question/answer section about this very topic. They are the experts-- I personally don't have a green thumb.
:0)
Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. Looks like next month is replanting time for me. I knew I could count on this board for answers. Barbara
