I have been watching some of the Winter Olympics. Although I have heard of "Curling" and seen it "done" several times before, I am struck with the utter stupidity of this event. Not only is it not a sport, but an Olympic event????? This is supposed to represent the best of man's physical competition? What drugs were the "inventors" of this utterly silly thing on? Maybe I can "design" the next Olympic event- standing on one's head spitting enough rubber pellets into a container to give one a springboard from which to jump into a vat of ..... well you get the idea!

I agree but I think that a good snowball fighting competition would make a better new event. Teams could hide behind baracades or run a course while the opposing team throws their snowballs at them. A face shot would be 10 points, a body shot would be 5 and any appendedge shot would be worth 1 point except for a crotch shot, that would have to be 15 points, ouch.

Every time I get set to watch some of the Olympics, one of two sports is on: hockey or curling. I dislike hockey and the curling reminds me for all the world of a pack of lunatics furiously mopping a floor...

I heard this A.M. that MSNBC refused to cut away from the curling event to cover the Daniel Pearl murder. This infuriates me, as the importance of any Olympic or sports event pales in comparison to the murder of a U.S. citizen by terrorists.

I just returned from the Olympics and I went to see Curling... All I can say is that without the commentary about what was going on, Curling is a great excuse to get together to trade Olympic Pins. Then again, so is Luge, Bobsled, and Skeleton.
