I recently had the misfortune of placing an order online from AOL Shop Direct. Here's what has gone wrong so far:
1. They sent me the wrong software item.
2. They told me to send it back with a note asking for an exchange. I did.
3. Instead of exchanging it for the correct item they issued a refund and cancelled the original order.
4. When I asked about this they said that the correct item was out of stock, which of course they never told me when I ordered. 5. They then told me they would reorder the correct item but it would be several WEEKS to arrive. They said they would credit me for shipping for my trouble. They also said I could track the order online.
6. When I tried to track it online there was no record of the transaction. When I went into the "online customer service chat" I waited patiently for a rep to come online. On two occasions no one ever came online after 10 minutes(they said there was a one minute wait). To add insult, they sent me two e-mails saying that they chatted with me but I did not respond.
7. I received an e-mail the NEXT DAY telling me that the item had been shipped(without the credit) to the WRONG address.
8. When I asked them why it was shipped to my old address they told me that it is up to you to notify them of the correct address when you move. I told them that I thought that giving the CORRECT address on the order form and to each of the subsequent reps I spoke to should be sufficient.
9. I asked them to notify UPS of the change. I was told that since it had already been shipped that the best they could do was to wait for it to come back to them so they could resend it(several weeks later).
10. UPS said it had NOT been shipped but that I could call them early the day of the scheduled delivery to get it sent to the correct address.
This is very typical of AOL in general. They are also selling software that requires a tremendous amount of memory and not telling their customers about that. Many happy returns!!!

It gets better. I finally got the item several days ago. They called me tonight to ask me to what address I wanted it delivered!

I'm not trying to one-up you, I'm just sharing in your misery:

1) purchase vehicle from ebay seller
2) get phone call from seller, giving address to send payment (later to discover is a girlfriend's addy) and a phone number to call him (later to discover is a cel phone number to a cel phone that he has lost, and can only retrieve messages from, and his name (later to discover is one of 3 names he uses).
3) send payment, he said would mail title
4) no title, 28 phone calls, 5 emails and No Answers
5) he emails, got money, crawls back under a rock
6) 42 phone calls, 13 emails.
7) finally emails with no answers for us, says in 3 more days would have paperwork ready to mail.
8) We call police, notify ebay (who later would email us with advice to follow, which is exactly what has already been done...if they would have just read the complaint)
9) speed dialing worn out, printing emails ~need another ream of printer paper. Decide to drive over 3 or 4 states to try to pick up the vehcile.
10) he says okay in email, gives no direction, time, location, etc.
11) drive to Maryland. He's not there. Car's not there. Call police again, he skipped out of apartment while we were talking to her. Left note and key, we found car, rented car hauler, drove home.
12) Seriously enjoyed leaving negative feedback.

It's amazing that you got the title signed over to you. Is the car actually in good condition?
