I'll be going to the end of the peninsula in the city I live in to view the 2 beams of light they are turning on tonight at Ground Zero..I believe that they can be seen at an 80 mile radius so If you live within 80 miles Of Manhattan..try to go see the lights. I think they are being turned on as soon as it turns dark. It will be a differant and welcome view then what I saw 6 months ago at the same spot.

I wished I lived closer to see that - it should be quite a sight! I watched the 2 hour show "9/11" last night - WOW! It gave me shivers to think we were seeing things exactly how the firefighters saw it. Talk about bravery! I've always admired firefighters and police officers for the work that they do keeping the rest of us safe, but the appreciation hit a whole new level after seeing that show.
Please share your thoughts/experiences after you witness the 2 beams of light. It might help those of us who can't be there to experience "the next best thing". Thanks!

I cried when they said that the small "explosions" we were hearing that startled everyone was actually people jumping and hitting the pavement. I'm grateful the brothers filming the documentary decided not to film that. It was bad enough seeing the reaction on the faces of the firefighters.
Not my name on ebay.

Valleygirl, I know what you mean about those sounds. I read the writeup in the current issue of Time Magazine about this show before it aired and they described the sounds and what they were. I can only begin to imagine what those firefighters must have been thinking when they realized what those sounds were or just how bad things were once they learned about the second plane hitting. It made my hair stand on end to think that we were seeing people's faces and hearing their voices hours/minutes before they died. I cried through most of the show......
