Ok. So, what is a Venture Perotista? A cross between Ross Pero and Jesse Ventura? Ug. What a thought.

I think that a mandantory test like this ought to be given to individuals that stick to party voting prior to voting time. That way, they can determine if they are really backing up the party that supports their viewpoint or not.

The ARP? It believes in the Founding Father's brand of Enlightenment Period phylosphy that inspired them to both seek fredom from England and Tyranny, and to write a Constitution and Bill of Rights that would prevent a Tyranny here. It believes that the purpose of the State is to provide for the well-being of its citizens. That means to rgulate commerce to create as level a playing field as possible, free education for all, and the tools and security that a State ought to provide. It believes that political candidates are sent to Congress or the Presidency with only one purpose in mind: the well-being of the Citizens. And so forth.

Green Party 82%
Democratic Party 71%
Natural Law Party 65%
Republican Party 24%

In actuality, I'm registered as an Independent. I usually vote Democratic or third party candidate.

Isn't that a little like Yogi Berra saying that 90% of the game of baseball is half mental?
BTW- what is the Natural Law party all about?

For some reason I was curious why they did not make you choose from a drop down menu that was blank if you did not touch it?

Or if you pushed the submit button with everything saying "increase", as is the default, it should be evenly dispersed between the 7 parties instead of ...

1) Natural Law Party 84%
2) Green Party 72%
3) Democratic Party 68%
4) Republican Party 56%
5) Reform Party 56%
6) Constitution Party 36%
7) Libertarian Party 4%

(without even reading any of it and clicking submit above)

But then again it hit me right on the head ...

Green 88%

last is Republican at 24%

Libertarian 89%.

Surprise, surprise, that is exactly how I vote. At least, as long as there is a Libertarian candidate available.

If no Libertarian candidate, I always vote against the incumbent, no matter which party he/she belongs to. In my opinion, no professional politician can be trusted. Since Libertarian candidates never get elected, they can't be considered professional politicians.

Stusi, as a Canadian I live in a different society where some of the key concerns are different. I can't relate to many American concerns e.g. we have a regulated health care industry, we've never had any employment quota legislation, gun control is not a hot political issue, education is the definite responsibility of the provinces not the federal government, etc.

Asking me to fill out a American survey is akin to my asking you to fill out a Canadian survey with questions such as whether the province of Quebec should be given special treatment in recognition of its distinct culture (always a hot topic here).

Funny thing: my father-in-law is a lifetime staunch Republican. Aftere he took the test, he learned that he wasn't Republican at all! He was really a die-hard Libertarian.

Like I said: if they would only institute this sort of test as a guide to voters when they apply to vote.

The Constitution Party is an interesting party... I sat and listened to a guy talk about it, and even asked him questions on it.
And they were really good about trying to explain it.

Borillar, I know that was a trick statement you made up there You do not apply to vote, you register, any U.S. citizen, 18 or over can become a registered voter without applying. In fact some don't have to do anything at all, you get a voters registeration card when you get your drivers license renewed in some places.

Its not like applying for a credit card or citizenship where you may have to be approved

Voting is a U.S. citizens Right unlike driving where it is a privledge

But you knew that

Whoops in answer to what is the Constitution Party... is basically they adhere tightly to the principles of government laid down by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.

I think they feel (and probably rightly so) that politicians, congress etc have strayed and legally too, away from the actual constitution.

And they are mainly 'conservative' in nature

The party is formally recognized by the FEC
(Federal elections committee)
