No, I think that The Onion is essentially correct. It points out the absurdity between the Republican Voters and the Republican Party. On the one hand, Republican Voters like to think of themselves as mainstream Americana, Mom's Apple Pie With Ice Cream, and Morally Pure morals that have been scorched clean with Chemical-acid. On the other hand, their politicians and "moral" leaders run along an ultra-right course not typical of the mainstream, corporate fascists who want to see us all in ball and chains, and their abysmal morals are so low as to be doing Satan's Business on a typical daily basis. That is you tried to define 'What is a Republican' by pressing the two of them together, the Voters and the Political Leaders, you get the sort of fantasy written in that article.

Bobo: You'd love The Onion if you're not a fan already! Some recent goodies were about an Indian convenience store owner and co-resident Pakistani concessionaire calling each other names all day; Bush being pressed to "create 500,000 hitty jobs", and fast; oh, the one by a "social psychologist" pointing out that men of "lower economic means" are less inhibited and more able to communicate their appreciation of females than those in higher economic strata; like that. I regret not saving the 9-11 issue. I don't think I read it but I'll never forget that cover. They spoof on everybody but definitely lean left. So far.

Real money does not come in cash. Currency is fractional denominations to expedit casual purchases. The unit of business transactions is the Megabuck.
